CITW Botswana Celebrates World Environment Day 2026 Essay Winners

The Association of Environmental Clubs of Botswana (AECB) hosted an essay competition for learners to showcase their creativity, knowledge and passion for environmental conservation. This year’s topic was Climate Change, and learners across Botswana were tasked with writing an essay on the subject.

This topic is covered in our CITW Curriculum and we are pleased to announce that it yielded good results for our Eco-club Members. The results of the competition were released on the 12th OF June 2026, and Vivian Nxwatso from Gudigwa Primary School took second place followed by Boitshoko Gweexa from Seronga Primary in third place. The impact the CITW programme has on the minds of the children is visible, and is placing the most remote areas of our country on the map for the world to see.

The unwavering support of the Eco-Club Co-ordinators is highly appreciated. We also commend all our Eco-Club members for their passion, enthusiasm and dedication to continuing to make a meaningful impact.
