Gisunzu Primary School in Rwanda has seen some huge improvements since they partnered with CITW and Wilderness Safaris. The newest project, just completed, focused on improving the school grounds.
The vision was to transform what previously looked more like a construction site and barren land into a volleyball court, with proper drainage to avoid floods in the rainy seasons, as well as pathways to the classrooms, and plenty of trees, so that children can play and rest in the shade.
The volleyball court was completed this month, with the rest of the “beautification”, as the teachers are fondly calling the project, to proceed in July during the school holidays.
The total cost of USD4 900 was contributed by guests of Bisate Lodge and Magashi.
