Thanks to The Bourke Family Foundation, we have been able to distribute over 850 solar lights on a recent trip to Tsholotsho, Zimbabwe. As this was the first proper distribution we have been able to do since March 2020, we distributed lights to Grade 6 and Grade 7 students at 12 of the schools we work with, as well as teachers who haven’t received lights before.
An added level of excitement for all involved was being able to deliver lights to two schools that we have partnered with more recently, where no students or teachers have received lights before. These two schools: Matupula Primary and Mtshayeli Primary, are also more remote than the other schools in the Tsholotsho cluster, so the inclusion of these two schools made the distribution even more special.
With schools back in a temporary shutdown due to COVID-19, our distributions have had to be put on hold. However, we are ready, and raring to complete these for other schools in Hwange as soon as they open again! With so many lasting benefits, we would like to once again offer our thanks to The Bourke Family Foundation for their ongoing support over the years. It is very much appreciated, and the impact on those who receive lights is immense and long-lasting.
