CITW Zambezi, in collaboration with Obert Vundla, was recently able to visit the ladies who trained at Ziga under the Blue Collar Travellers’ sponsorship of the Tsholotsho Agri-Course for Girls. While there, CITW held an awards ceremony honouring the ladies’ efforts, endurance and hard work – which is reflected in the beautiful gardens they have produced at Ziga Primary School.
The training was a success and their gardens are flourishing, healthy and green; some of the vegetable produce is almost ready to be harvested. The ladies have a good stock of cabbages, onions, parsley, thyme and coriander.
The cabbages are already a hit with the locals, and many have been sold. CITW also learnt that onions and parsley were going to be ready for the market sometime in October, and the ladies are already working on a marketing strategy to make their produce known in the nearby areas.

CITW Zambezi is extremely optimistic that these young ladies, who soldiered on with the training despite walking long distances, will take the knowledge they gained very far and also transfer it to the communities they come from.
They are very grateful for the training, and all aspire to be entrepreneurs in the field of agriculture so they can feed the nation at large!
