Children in the Wilderness (CITW) Botswana held training this past weekend in our Maun offices, in association with Singakwenza. Singakwenza aims to build sustainable early childhood education programmes in economically disadvantaged communities.
The workshop, called Waste2Toys, “teaches parents, educators and community workers to make their own toys and teaching materials using recycling. Our goal at each workshop is to help the delegates understand that they are the most important element in a child’s education, not shelves full of expensive equipment”.
The training came just in time for World Recycling Day, which is celebrated annually on the 18th March. We so look forward to seeing the wonderful materials our teachers, Eco-Mentors and CITW team make for their classrooms, Eco-Clubs and Camps! Thank you to the Singakwenza Team for this informative and inspiring workshop.
