Where is he now? Naledi Kgoba – A true Children in the Wilderness champion

Naledi Kgoba from Botswana is a true champion of Children in the Wilderness (CITW). Naledi was first involved with CITW in 2009 as an Eco-Club member and attended annual CITW camps while he was in school. He now regularly volunteers as an Eco-Mentor on CITW camps, and last year was a beneficiary of an SAWC bursary. He completed his practical work experience at Banoka Bush Camp. He is a role model to all of the children whose lives he touches at camp as a Mentor. Naledi took time out from his busy work schedule, to help the 2017 Botswana SAWC students prepare for their studies in South Africa.

Naledi is currently contracted with Wilderness Safaris in the Lenyanti concession, working as a trainee in different departments around camp – from front of house, to housekeeping. Once he has spent time in all the departments in camp, he will be employed in the department where he is most competent. It is Naledi’s dream to become a field guide.

We are truly grateful that Naledi is still involved in the CITW programme, and look forward to seeing him achieve his dreams.
