Vivian Mosheti continues to grow her skills and learning, and continues to make us proud! She was first introduced to Children in the Wilderness (CITW) in 2009 when she participated as a camper while completing her Standard 7 (Grade 9) schooling. You can read her story here, but below is an update on what Vivian is up to at the moment.

Vivian’s aspiration for her future has always been to study social work, as she is passionate about educating and empowering children so that they have a chance at a better life too. She wants to do this in conjunction with the CITW programme as she believes that the experience she has gained as a camper herself and being an Eco-Mentor, will enable her to reach out to these children more effectively.
In January 2019, Vivian was fortunate to receive a scholarship from one of Wilderness Safaris’ repeat guests who was inspired by Vivian’s story. Vivian started two courses with one of the institutes here in Maun on Community Development and Counselling Courses.
Vivian and Lesh Moiteela (CITW Botswana Programme Coordinator) met with Vivian’s sponsor, Carolyn. Vivian and Carolyn had a good conversation, with Vivian updating Carolyn on the course progress. Vivian reported that she is now motivated and focused to ensure she works hard to receive good results and make the most of the opportunity she’s been given.
Vivian and Lesh, it was so wonderful to meet you both and to hear about your work and studies. Definitely one of the highlights of my visit to Botswana! Vivian, I’m sure that you will inspire others as you’ve inspired me with your aspirations and determination to make a difference – bravo! I look forward to hearing how your studies progress and to meeting you again when I return to your fabulous country.
Thank you for your message Carolyn. We look forward to seeing you again soon!
