We are proud to announce that a new pre-school double-classroom block at Twabuka Primary School in Zambia is now complete. This came just in time for the new school year which started at the beginning of the month.
With grateful thanks to Olivia Kearns, who, for her 16th birthday, asked all her guests to donate to the pre-school building. We continued to fundraise, and thanks to Robert Boyer and Greg Pearson, were finally able to complete the building at the end of last year.
Working remotely, we exported the Zimba Chromadeck structure from Zimbabwe to Zambia. These are extremely durable and low-maintenance buildings – key for the harsh environment in which the school is situated.
Previously, the pre-school was located off the main school property and had become very run down. By adding the pre-school to the main school property, the learners will be safer and more connected with the rest of the school, as well as getting a good foundation for when they move to Grade 1.
Thanks again to all who donated towards this project. You have made such a difference to the lives of the Twabuka pre-schoolers, and all those who will come in the future.
