Mother Bear Distribution in Zambezi Region

Children in the Wilderness Zambezi would like to say a huge and heartfelt thank you to Amy Berman and all the incredible Mother Bear knitters who, year after year, have sent thousands of beautifully knitted bears to our children in Zimbabwe, among many other countries.

The Mother Bear Project is a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing comfort and hope to children by giving them a gift of love in the form of hand-knit and crocheted bears. We are proud to have been partnered with them since 2005!

The simple gift of a hand-knit bear, with a tag signed by the knitter, continues to touch thousands of children who have nearly nothing of their own, through the message that they are loved by someone on the other side of the world.

Over the last month, CITW Zambezi visited three local government schools in the Victoria Falls area to surprise each child in their infant classes with a specially knitted Mother Bear.

One can never underestimate the power of a smile, and after seeing 329 little smiling faces with their new bears, all of the CITW Zambezi team’s hearts were truly filled to the brim with happiness.

We look forward to distributing the remaining bears to our schools in the Tsholotsho area and continuing to spread the love of the Mother Bear project.
