Grade Sevens Write Their Final Primary School Exams, Zimbabwe

Grade 7s across Zimbabwe started the government examinations in November, marking the culmination of their primary school education. The exams determine who will proceed to secondary school in January to further their education.

As a token of encouragement during the study period, the Grand Circle Foundation and Children in the Wilderness (CITW) sponsored exam packs to over 200 Grade 7s at eight rural schools in the Matabeleland North area of Zimbabwe. Snacks, fruit juice and stationery, in the form of pens, pencils and rulers, were among the gifts the learners from Ngamo, Ziga, Kapane, Jakalasi, Mpindo, St Mary’s, Emfundweni and Jabulani Primary Schools received.

CITW and the Grand Circle Foundation have been sending Grade 7s these exam treats for the last four years to show that we are all supporting them through the tough exam period. Although not all faces in the photo are happy, the students were all thrilled with their gifts and assured us all the items would assist them in their efforts during the ten days of exams.

Good Luck Grade 7s, Classes of 2017!
