Culture Tshuma is currently in his final year of a Bachelor of Commerce at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), Zimbabwe. Starting his degree in 2016 and majoring in Accounting, Culture has loved being at university, as it has challenged and led him to learn much about himself.
However, Culture’s journey with CITW began long ago, in 2008, when he was a student at Ngamo Primary School and he joined the scholarship programme. Hard work and good grades saw his sponsorship continue through his secondary school education at Tsholotsho High School. There, he continued to do his best and excelled in his examinations, graduating with flying colours.
Culture is such an inspiration to other young students from Ngamo. His family is so proud of him for his endurance and for being such a good example to the younger generation. Ultimately, Culture hopes to be able to go back to his community and be an active role model for young people, providing the support that they need to achieve their goals. He thanks CITW, and his sponsor, So Others May Learn, as well as his family “for all the love and encouragement they showed me all the way”.
We are so proud of Culture, and look forward to seeing all that he will accomplish in the future!
