CITW Zambezi partners with the Way Inn House

Children in the Wilderness (CITW) is proud to share the story of the Way Inn House. Inspired by the vision of founder Jan Vivian and now run in partnership with CITW, the home has become a safe place where children are supported, encouraged, and given the chance to thrive.

Located in Mkhosana, Victoria Falls, the house currently welcomes 37 students from local schools. Before and after school every day, the children come to enjoy a nourishing meal, complete their homework, and spend time in a caring environment. For many, it provides the stability and belonging that is missing in their daily lives.

Two children live at the house full time with the house mother, who provides daily care, guidance, and love. Since moving in, their confidence has grown and they are learning to look after themselves, practice good hygiene, and build healthy routines.

The transition into the dedicated house, along with CITW Zambezi taking over management, began at the start of this year. The CITW team now ensures that everything runs smoothly, from groceries and maintenance to scholarships that keep every child in school. This support allows the children to focus on what matters most: learning, growing, and building brighter futures.

Each day, the students gather in a structured environment where teachers and tutors provide extra lessons and one-on-one help. Alongside their studies, they share meals, laughter, and friendships that encourage and uplift them.

For CITW, the Way Inn House is a true reflection of our mission to educate, empower, and protect. It is more than just four walls. It is a home filled with safety, care, and opportunity, where children are not only fed and educated but also encouraged to believe in themselves and their future.
