CITW Bisate March Update
The CITW Eco-Clubs at the Bisate Primary and Secondary schools had a great month full of activities.
The learners of Bisate Primary School had the opportunity to exchange correspondence with a primary school in the Netherlands. Various letters and pictures went back and forth, to learn from each other. Good practice in communication skills, and at the same time an opportunity to learn about another culture! Questions about how the classes work and how things are at the school, questions on sports and favourite foods were asked and answered.
At Bisate Primary School, the water filtration system that was installed with the assistance of donations from our Bisate guests is in full use. It provides clean and hygienic drinking water for all the students and teachers at the school.
CITW at Akayange Primary and Rwabiharamba Secondary Schools
Akayange Primary School has very active CITW Eco-Clubs running their activities each Wednesday afternoon. The club has 60 students who are disciplined and motivated to learn more about conservation, protecting their environment and nature in general!
In March the installation of a CITW water filtration system started at Rwabiharamba Secondary School. The installation was made possible by donations from Wilderness guests. The system will ensure clean, safe and hygienic drinking water for all 1,200 students and 35 teachers at the school!
In the first weeks of April, the installation will be completed, meaning that at the start of the last term of the school year, the students will be enjoying fresh drinking water.
The two CITW Eco-Clubs at Bisate Primary School (with 60 learners), the two CITW Eco-Clubs at Akayange Primary School with 60 learners), and lastly the 64 learners in the two CITW Eco-Clubs at Gisunzu Primary School all received their wonderful new Club t-shirts, along with the 281 students at the three YES Clubs at Rwabirharamba, Kinihira and Bisate secondary schools.
