In June of this year humanitarian, Anton Poplett travelled to Botswana’s Bobirwa District to conduct eye tests on the children at our partner schools, as well as some teachers and adults, and dispense spectacles where applicable.
We are thrilled to share a few of the children’s success stories after receiving their eyeglasses.

Omaatla is a learner from Lentswe le Moriti village. He says ever since getting the glasses his eyes do not get strained from reading,a nd he does his school work much easier and quicker than before.

Ditaelo Ralethaka is a Standard 5 student – she’s happy and can see properly. She used to sit very close to the chalkboard, but now she is able to sit anywhere in the classroom. From Boammaruri Bagwasi, Ditaelo’s Eco-Mentor: “Her mother is overwhelmed and thanks the team a million times for assisting her daughter. God bless the team”.

Darren is in Standard 5 at Mabolwe Primary School. In his words: “I thank Anton and CITW for the glasses given to me. They corrected my vision and I can now focus. Thanks a lot to the doctor who identified my vision problem. The glasses are helping me to learn with no difficulty”.

Lebone attends Lentswe le Moriti and is in Standard 6. According to her Eco-Mentor Tshidy, everything is clear now, she sits anywhere in the classroom, and enjoys reading more than ever before. Her uncle says that he sees great improvement at home when helping her study.
