Lena Florry is Wilderness Safaris Namibia’s Area Manager for Damaraland, Desert Rhino Camp and Doro Nawas, and a member of the Torra Conservancy, with whom Damaraland Camp has a pioneering ecotourism partnership.

As part of its ongoing mitigation of human-wildlife conflict (HWC) in north-west Namibia, the company, through its sustainability fund, donated a lion-proof kraal, equipped with an early-warning antenna, to Lena to protect her livestock at night.

Lena’s village is known as Driefontein in Damaraland, where the main HWC is with lions and leopards attacking the livestock, and elephants destroying water pipes.

Here she is expressing her gratitude!
