Work has just finished on the Lukosi Clinic garden’s borehole conversion. Thanks to Grand Circle Foundation, the borehole has been converted from an electric pump to a solar-powered system.
Located in the clinic’s vegetable garden, the borehole provides the water needed to sustain the crops which feed the clinic patients. Due to constant power cuts that occur, water was not always able to be pumped when needed on the old electric system, making it an unreliable means of providing the water needed to sustain the garden.
With the new solar-powered system, however, water can be pumped regardless of the electricity situation, making it accessible for anyone, at any time.
Those involved with the clinic are so grateful, and we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to GCF for this generous donation. The difference it will make and the assistance it will provide will be felt for many years to come.
