When and why did you join the Eco-Club in your school?
I joined the club in 2016 when I was doing Standard 2. I enjoyed activities being done by the Eco-Club members. They did fun extra-mural activities. Conducted lessons on environmental conservation.
What did you enjoy and learn at the camp?
My favourite thing when I attended the camp was going on game drives, I got to learn about different animal species and how they adapted to their environment. I also got to learn about different plants and the interaction between plants and animals. We also get learned about physical features of our beloved country. Including the how Okavango Delta was formed. We interacted and learned from one another and get to be free.
What activities did you do or participate in, in your Eco-Club?
During club activities we learn different vocational skills such as knitting mats, making flower pots, paper fireworks, and earth benches. These projects are mainly from the 4Rs which stands for Respect for the environment, Reuse, Recycle and Reduce.
Tell us about your future dreams and aspirations
My aspiration is that one day I want to run an Eco-Club in my village to teach my community ways of caring for the environment for the betterment of our country.
We look forward to hearing more about your Eco-Club progress as life gradually normalises, T-Gurl!
