Bongani Baloyi reports on a visit to Ntataise Day Care Centre in Alex…
At Wilderness Safaris, the spirit of giving is in our hearts!
In July this year, Children in the Wilderness (CITW) Johannesburg office, through the Nelson Mandela Day campaign, asked staff members to participate in what we called “The Great Wilderness Knit-off” and this initiative saw more than 100 scarves knitted by our staff members. These scarves and other goodies donated by generous staff were handed over to Ntataise Day Care Centre in Alexandra, north-east of Johannesburg on 19 July 2017.
After the Mandela day celebrations, Wilderness Safaris staff members continued with their knitting projects and another 40 more scarves were knitted. CITW often receives donations of clothes children’s books and toys, among other things. On the 22nd November, Bokang Shopane and Bongani Baloyi of CITW Joburg delivered the scarves, toys, clothes, linen and a BIG cooking pot to the pre-school.
“We are so grateful for all the assistance we are receiving from CITW and it is a privilege for the centre as we are not the only one in the community. I would also like to thank Wilderness Safaris’ staff for their generosity and kindness.” – said Patricia Ntataise, the Day Care Centre founder.
