The Rosemary Pencil Foundation in conjunction with CITW donated 50 e-readers to Bandawe Girls Secondary in Nkhatabay-Bay District (Northern Region of Malawi). This second project was the result of the success of the first project at Namalomba Secondary School in Balaka District – Southern Malawi.
With help from the World Reader USA, the e-readers were loaded with Malawi Secondary School Syllabus Students’ text books, Teachers’ Guide book and other related reading books and novels. One e-readers has a capacity of 1400 books. The machines have a Wi-Fi facility which allows the schools to remove, or download more books which they may need from e-book libraries and shops online.
