Children in the Wilderness Namibia (CITW), in collaboration with Medora Regan, a Wilderness guest, was delighted to recently hand over full school uniforms to the learners of DeRiet Primary School near Wilderness Damaraland Camp in the Kunene Region of Namibia.
The aim of the donation was to support vulnerable learners by ensuring they have the necessary school attire to attend classes with confidence and dignity.
Before this donation, many of the children did not have proper school uniforms, and attended school in casual and worn-out clothing. The lack of uniforms presented challenges for both learners and their families, making this donation especially meaningful for the community.
The handover brought smiles and excitement to the children, who proudly received their new uniforms. Having a complete school uniform not only promotes a sense of belonging and equality among learners, but also boosts self-esteem and encourages regular school attendance. Parents and guardians expressed their gratitude for the support, which has helped ease the financial burden of buying school clothing.
The learners, teachers, and community members of DeRiet village also expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Medora and CITW for their kindness and investment in the future of Namibia’s youth.
