The construction of a classroom block at Lesedi Primary School has finally entered the home stretch, thanks to the generosity of Grand Circle Foundation (GCF) and guests of Overseas Adventure Travel (OAT). After some delays in acquiring the materials and securing a builder to complete the work, the roof of the new classroom block is now up.
Located 14 kilometres from the town of Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, the school was founded in 2014 and has been steadily growing year by year, to cater for a growing number of students and provide the children of the surrounding area – Ntabayengwe Village – with a quality education.
This year, there is now a Grade 6 class, as the Grade 5s from 2019 have graduated. In 2021 the current Grade 6s will become Grade 7s, so the additional classrooms will soon be occupied, with the increase in learners.
On a recent visit to the school, the roofing was being delivered and builders were starting to put everything together. Earlier this week, the roofing was almost complete. We would like to thank GCF and OAT for their continued support and are looking forward to reporting on the final phase of the project – the furniture – and the Grade 6 students’ move into their classroom.
