With winter creeping in, some of our male teachers from the Tsholotsho region found their saving grace in the form of a purposeful donation. The smiles on their faces as they received the new items of clothing was truly heart-‘warming’.
The teachers in Zimbabwe are held to a high standard in dress code, and are often found in full suits and elegant dresses. Those in the poorer regions and schools do their best with what they have and will often wear their finest outfit over and over throughout the year, leaving the garment thread bare and worn out. Once winter settles in there is little left to their jackets and shirts to provide any warmth or comfort.
Things that may seem like an everyday item such as a new jacket or pair of trousers can in fact be life changing to these hardworking and dedicated teachers like those here at Jakalasi and Mpindo Primary Schools.
As always we would like to say a huge thank you to all those generous souls who provided these men with the gift of warmth and comfort.
