Donation of School Fees for St Mary’s Zimbabwe

We are so pleased to announce that thanks to a very kind and generous donor, CITW Zambezi has been able to pay USD10 000 worth of school fees to St Mary’s Primary School. This donation covers the school fees for every student at the school until the end of 2022.

With the ramifications of COVID-19, and the terrible impact on livelihoods across the country still ongoing, many parents have struggled to simply provide for their families. Due to this, school fees significantly burden these low-income families’ lives, particularly if one family has multiple students attending school at once.

Thus, this donation could not have come at a better time, as Mrs Siameka, the Headmistress of St Marys informed us that only 100 students of the 900 at the school have been able to afford to pay school fees throughout the whole of 2022.

With such a low number of students paying fees, this donation will not only take pressure off the parents to pay these fees but also help the school immensely with the day-to-day expenses of running a school of this size.

Below is a letter that was written to CITW by Mrs Siameka.

On behalf of St Mary’s Primary School, I would like to express our sincere gratitude for the great assistance we have received and continue to receive from your organisation. CITW has done for us so many great things, which I may not be able to mention exhaustively – but special mention goes to the recent donation of school fees. It has made our life easier in running the school this term, and as a result of your generosity we have been able to purchase a heavy duty printer-copier for exam purposes. We are truly looking forward to providing many more beneficial materials and activities for our learners. Your support has gone a very long way into the development of our school. Thank you very much and may you be blessed for the good hand that gives”.
