CITW Zambia entered a competition for employer of the year award under the category of cooperate social responsibility. The category was heavily contested with companies such as mines, banks, manufacturing companies and telecommunication and transport sectors represented. CITW was picked on merits of its sustainable way of managing natural resources and its provision of education which guarantees the future of the country. The Guest of Honour – Minister of Labour and Social – quoted four areas that make CITW more sustainable; education for little children guarantees the future of the country, corporate social responsibilities empower the communities and improves their lives, the happy community can supports the development of the business and that CSR supports and compliments government efforts
