Children in the Wilderness Rwanda organized a tree planting event for Bisate Primary School Eco-Club children on the 8th of October at Bisate Lodge. In total, 62 CITW Eco-Club students and their Eco-Club Mentors visited the indigenous tree nursery at Bisate to raise awareness and learn about the importance of reforestation. All of them picked their own tree from the nursery which they planted to create a CITW Eco-Club Forest at Bisate Lodge! Next to the tree the children placed a volcanic rock that they had decorated with their name.
The CITW Eco-Club Forest is situated next to a pathway that the children often use to move from their home to school. Meaning that they can visit their tree on their way to school and monitor its growth. We hope that the CITW Eco-Club Forest will steadily grow and that we can invite more children to plant their tree soon.
Thank you Hadley Pierce for the great pictures.
