CITW Rwanda | Bisate Primary School Computer Project

Wilderness Rwanda and Children in the Wilderness (CITW) have partnered with Bisate Primary School since 2018, through Eco-Clubs and environmental education, as well as the provision of school supplies and numerous other Impact initiatives within our Educate and Empower pillars.

CITW & Community Manager Aline Umutoni reports on her team’s latest project in the Volcanoes National Park area. ‘We are so proud of our latest project, to assist Bisate Primary School with the repair and maintenance of 36 computers. In addition to enhancing the student’s learning experience, they ensure access to online educational content and development of digital skills, encourage creativity, and provide administrative and communication tools. The teachers use Microsoft PowerPoint and other apps for effective lesson presentations, as well as for effective communication between parents, students, and teachers.’

The initiative was made possible by the continuous generous support of Wilderness Bisate guests Robert and Alison Green. Dedicated to improving the digital literacy of the 1,499 students and 42 teachers at the school, USD 3,485.55 was allocated to this project from the guests’ donation.

Expressing the schools’ gratitude, Dancille Mukakamari, Headmistress of Bisate Primary School said, ‘On behalf of Bisate Primary School, we would like to thank you for your support of the integration of computers in education. This is a transformative factor that improves the quality of teaching and learning. Thank you so much Robert and Alison Green for your ongoing support of the Bisate community.’
