CITW Rwanda at Gishwati Forest

The start of the school year at the end of September means that all CITW Eco-Clubs in the Gishwati area were in full swing in October.

At Gisunzu Primary School, 64 learners attend weekly environmental lessons. Since 26 students from the Eco-Club continued on to the secondary school this year, we could select 26 new members to join. Aline Umutoni and Jean Damascene Nkuriragenda prepared a small test to identify the most motivated students so they could join the club.

At Kinihira Secondary School, a record number of 195 students partake in weekly environmental lessons in the CITW YES Club.

In October Aline and Jean Damascene distributed all the necessary supplies to both Gisunzu and Kinihira Schools to ensure successful CITW Eco- and YES Clubs.

After the teacher training in September, all the Eco-Club teachers and mentors are extra motivated to give the most inspirational classes. It is truly admirable what they have achieved!
