CITW Nangondo Cluster launches reforestation and COVID-19 awareness activities

“Growing together with my forest – healthy environment for healthy life.”

The Nangondo Cluster Centre is on the eastern side of Liwonde National Park, and is a hub for four Eco-Clubs in the local primary schools.

The Nangondo Centre’s aim is to raise 5 000 seedlings of different trees. The trees will be distributed free of charge to local villagers and organised groups and clubs in the community. In terms of the CITW programme, what these Eco-Club children are doing is ideal practical leadership development.

CITW believes that sustainable conservation is achieved by leaders who have been taught, understand, developed a passion for and are willingly initiating and participating in practical conservation activities.
