Last week our Rwanda CITW and Community Co-ordinator, Aline Umutoni, and representatives from the construction company, the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) and the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International (Fossey Fund) went into Volcanoes National Park to check on repairs that were made to the water infrastructure that we put in place in September 2019.
The water is harvested at a water source inside the park and distributed to the villages outside the park. Some repairs were necessary after heavy rainfall and landslides. These repairs are now complete and the infrastructure is strong and steady.
The project, which we completed with the RDB and Fossey Fund provides water to 5 000 people in six villages that are situated close to Bisate Lodge.
Our gratitude goes to the Bisate Lodge guests whose generous donations made the project possible!
