Sustainable Conservation through Leadership Development – A Working Concept in Malawi

Kondwani Chilima joined CITW in 2008 in Grade 8. CITW sponsored her education, as her parents were unable to finance the costs.

She attended teachers’ training college, after which she went on to complete the bridging course at the Southern African Wildlife College, focusing on environmental education and leadership.

Two years ago, the Ministry of Education posted her to teach at Chakoma Primary School in Nkhata Bay District where she is also a Wildlife Club matron.

Kondwani is currently also an active member of the CITW Chihame YES Club. She is a leader with a mandate for empowerment through education.
