Solar Borehole Installed at Akayange

The last few days of 2020 have been particularly exciting for Akayange and Kayange villages, as well as Akayange Primary School.

With the help of a generous donation from a Wilderness Safaris Rwanda guest, we have been able to install a solar borehole to provide water to 280 households consisting of more than 1 400 people.

Akayange Primary School will also have direct access to the water with their own taps, ensuring easy hygiene protocols for their 316 children.

Akayange and Kayange villages are situated just outside Akagera National Park, and are the closest villages to Wilderness Safaris Magashi Camp.

We are looking forward to completing the project in the first weeks of 2021, so watch this space – to be continued…

Happy New Year from CITW Rwanda!
