Lupani Primary School Eco-Garden Success

Lupani Primary School’s eco-garden is flourishing thanks to dedicated teachers and community members who have been tending to it throughout the last few months while schools have been closed because of COVID-19.

Lupani is located just north of Kazungula, about 75 kilometres from Livingstone in Zambia, and is one of the seven schools in the southern province that we work with.

A recent tomato harvest was so successful that the school decided to sell the tomatoes to the wider community. The revenue earned from this will be used to purchase necessary stationery supplies, such as chalk, for the school once it is open again.

It is so heart-warming to see such a successful eco-garden, particularly during these dry months and challenging times when food security is becoming an issue. We are so proud of Lupani for their continued dedication and cannot wait to visit the garden ourselves when borders are open.
