Keeping families warm this winter: Marienfluss blanket donation May 2023

Children in the Wilderness’ ongoing mission to support Wilderness Serra Cafema’s neighbours in the remote Marienfluss Conservancy in north-western Namibia was given a welcome boost recently.

Community members of Ondao village received a generous donation of blankets from a guest staying at Serra Cafema.

Winter is a beautiful season in Namibia, but a hardship for impoverished families, children and the elderly. A blanket ensures that a child gets a good night’s sleep, which improves their general health, and ability to duly participate in school. Our Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3 target was achieved through this wonderful donation, aiding the residents’ wellbeing.

The community members of Ondao village are extremely grateful and extended their sincere appreciation to the Wilderness guest and Children in the Wilderness for making their winter a little warmer and more comfortable.
