As of last week, all of the staff in the Wilderness Victoria Falls office are looking into the future with much clearer vision! We at CITW set up our eye-testing and screening station in the garden of the Victoria Falls office and offered all staff at Wilderness the opportunity to get their eyes tested.
The first-of-its-kind screening system offers a quick and accurate way to test vision and dispense glasses within 10 minutes, on site. This is the same system that we used last year to test hundreds of students at schools in Tsholotsho, all thanks to 4×4 Out Far and Global Vision.
With the training taking less than a day, all CITW Zambezi team members have now undergone the necessary lessons, and are able to carry out the entire screening process from start to finish. In a morning of screening, we discovered that 17 of the 42 staff members we tested required glasses.
Based on read-outs from the equipment, a member of the CITW team was able to fit the correct lens strength for both eyes to a frame specifically picked out by each staff member. It was especially lovely being able to see the faces of everyone who required glasses light up when they could suddenly see a lot more clearly than they had before!
