In Rwanda all our students in school Environmental or Children in the Wilderness (CITW) Eco-Clubs write a CHEAKS (Children’s Environmental Attitude and Knowledge Scale) test at the start and end of their school year.
The test is fun for the children to do, and it gives us as the CITW team a good indication of the environmental awareness of the learners, and if the Eco-Clubs are assisting in improving this.
The last school day of the 2023-24 school year was on the 5th of July 2024, so our final CHEAKS tests for this school year were organised during the month of June.
All our Gishwati students who are enrolled at Gisunzu Primary School’s Eco-Clubs took part in the test, and we are looking forward to comparing the results with the test that they wrote at the start of the year.
We wish all the students and the teachers a great holiday, and we are looking forward to the start of the2024-25 school year in September!
