Symon Chibaka is the Malawi Country Co-ordinator for the CITW programme in Africa. The National Geographic Society (NGS) funded a CITW project known as ‘Changing the Lens on Conservation in Malawi’ between 2021 and 2023.

At the end of the successful project, the National Geographic Society recognised Symon as one of its Explorers. Symon Chibaka was officially awarded the title in Washington DC at the NGS’ annual global gathering of Explorers in June this year.
Congratulations on this impressive achievement, and your Explorer status, Symon!
Symon’s field of Exploration is Education Science – Storytelling. His speciality is identifying and discovering the power of stories that grow in and develop the minds of children when they are given specific knowledge. These stories have the power to change the mindset of a generation, to make the Earth a better place for all.

In line with the above, thanks also go to Planting Hope International which has granted Symon a scholarship for the Master’s Degree Study Programme in Transformative Community Development.
Finally, thanks go to Central African Wilderness Safaris for the ongoing generous support of the CITW programme. Also our CITW Family, for the synergy and strong family spirit that makes things happen with great and effective momentum.
Sustainable Conservation through Leadership Development is a possibility!
