Bobirwa Children Receive Eyeglasses

Thanks to generous sponsorship, in late June 2021, humanitarian Anton Poplett and his team of volunteers were able to conduct eye tests on 2 300 children and some adults at CITW partner schools in Botswana’s Bobirwa Sub-district.

Anton also brought 550 pairs of eyeglasses on his trip, most of which were dispensed to those who required them after being tested.

Last week another batch of children and teachers who had been tested received their eyeglasses, much to their delight.

Part of Anton’s outreach was to train Annie Peatling and Emmah Ditiso of Jwala and Dopotta Game Reserves in the Northern Tuli Game Reserve to conduct future eye tests.

Annie and Emmah are also set to assist Bobirwa Programme Co-ordinator Tanya McKenzie with Tuli Conservation Trust work in the communities going forward.

Once again our thanks to Anton, the Tuli Conservation Trust, the Lady Khama Charitable Trust, 4×4 Out Far, Optima Ballistic Glass, Global Vision 2020 and Hoya, without whose generous donations this life-changing exercise would not have been possible.
