It is with great excitement that we unveil our new traditional skirts and trousers. As we are working more and more with local communities in Zimbabwe and Zambia, we thought it fitting to ensure that we uphold tradition by wearing long, flowing clothes – as well as looking very smart of course!
After going to the local market to choose our fabrics, we took them to Noma, a very talented seamstress in Victoria Falls who can stitch up a masterpiece in a very short space of time.
We have had a few guests in the past who have requested dresses made from colourful chitenge material, and have had Noma make something for them as a memento of their stay in Zimbabwe. We hope to continue this once tourism picks up again, as well as having pre-made items like these in our camp shops that guests can buy off the rack.
This will provide a wonderful opportunity to support fabric vendors in the market, as well as Noma and her sewing business.
