Mosi-Oa-Tunya Menstrual Hygiene Training

Last week, CITW Zambezi undertook a menstrual hygiene training session with the girls at Mosi-oa-Tunya High School in Victoria Falls, following a distribution of Days for Girls reusable sanitary pads a few weeks ago. A social worker accompanied us to the school and had the girls in stitches as she explained the menstrual cycle and how our bodies are designed. This broke the ice with the girls, and they became more open, asking important questions. After the talk, some of the girls came up to share their experience of the reusable sanitary pads with the group. They were so excited and told us how convenient their kits are proving to be. It was so good to see the girls more comfortable talking about something that is often concealed and seen as embarrassing.

Thanks again to Mr Wilson and Days for Girls for their continued support in providing these girls with sanitary pads. This year, we have distributed 130 reusable sanitary pads to girls around Victoria Falls, and look forward to distributing more in the future.
