CITW Zambezi is so happy to share a story that’s already making a big difference in the lives of students at Lukosi Secondary School outside Victoria Falls Town in Zimbabwe. Thanks to the support of Grand Circle Foundation Zimbabwe and the incredible generosity of an Overseas Adventure Travel (OAT) traveller, we have been able to donate 10 bicycles to the school.
Each bicycle came with a helmet, a pump, a tyre repair kit, and spare parts to help keep them going strong.

For many students at Lukosi, just getting to school each day is a real challenge. Some walk as far as 10 kilometres to and from school, arriving tired, hungry, and unable to fully concentrate in class. These new bicycles will make a huge difference, allowing the students who travel the furthest to arrive more refreshed, focused, and ready to learn.

The school has allocated the bicycles to the 10 students who need them most, and they’re able to use the bikes throughout the school term. When a student finishes their schooling, their bicycle will be passed on to another student facing a long walk to school, ensuring that this donation continues to support learners for years to come.

This gift is more than just a set of wheels. It represents care, opportunity, and the belief that every child deserves the chance to succeed. The students and staff at Lukosi are hugely grateful, and so are we. Our heartfelt thanks go to the generous traveller who made this possible, and to everyone at Grand Circle Foundation for helping make it happen.
Sometimes, it really is the simple things that have the most powerful impact. For these students, a bicycle is helping them ride towards a better future.
