Gardening training for CITW Eco-Clubs, Namibia

IMG_0403

CITW Namibia gathered our Eco-club Mentors and agricultural teachers from Okaukuejo, Bergsig, Warmquelle and Sesfontein for a gardening training with a local horticulturalist, Benny Ganuseb, in Warmquelle. We also invited potential sponsors from the Nelson Mandela Fellowship Program to join, to get to meet the teachers and gather their interest, as well as Siegfriedt Bantu from the Ministry of Sport , Youth and National Services. The program was well received by the teachers and we all gained a lot of insight from Benny and his team. The first day consisted of theory conducted in a classroom at the Warmquelle Primary School and the second day of the course was a practical session in his garden. We also started a WhatsApp group for our CITW Eco-Clubs and the teachers have been sharing a lot of activity pictures about what they are up to in the different schools as well giving each other ideas on dealing with pests, etc.
