Eco-Club Activity in Malawi

Nanthomba and Kafulafula Eco-Club

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19, CITW has been engaged in creating awareness around dealing with the pandemic.

The message has been put out to parents, the youth and the children.

CITW children have been also making face masks, as one of the ways to minimise the chances of contracting the virus. Each CITW Eco-Club member has made their own face mask, as well as one for one of their siblings at home.

The Eco-Club members were trained to make face masks by hand, from fabric with needle and thread.

 Nangondo Eco-Club

Nangondo is a CITW Eco-Club situated to the east of Liwonde National Park. Their main activities include learning about reforestation and paper recycling, as well as environmental education trips to the park.

They also attend after-school environmental and wildlife education sessions, which are organized by their Eco-Mentors (teachers).
