Bisate Secondary School has a total of 614 students. Through generous donations from Bisate Lodge guests, Children in the Wilderness has been able to supply the school with 99 new desks.
The Bisate community committee requested this support as the school was short of these desks to meet the minimum requirements. The desks were made by a local furniture-maker, enabling us to support this local business at the same time as the school.
The additional desks will allow the school to practice social distancing in the classrooms, as there are now sufficient desks to adhere to the standard of a maximum of two students per desk.
The order was placed in December, and all the desks were delivered in January – and have been in use ever since!
