On a recent trip to Tsholotsho by the CITW Zambezi team, we were fortunate to be able to take along with us several suitcases of clothing and shoes that have been generously donated to us over the last few weeks.
Clothing and footwear included casual wear and smart attire for men, women, and children, and this was distributed between Jakalasi and Mpindo communities. The smart clothing will be particularly useful for teachers at both primary schools, as the dress code in Zimbabwe is strict and teachers are expected to wear smart clothing for work. In poverty-stricken isolated rural areas such as where these schools are located, access to clothing is extremely difficult and teachers have to do what they can to ensure that they look smart. Furthermore, the casual clothing was distributed to those in the wider communities who were most in need.
This distribution was significant and allowed us to help a variety of people who needed these items the most. Thank you to all those who have donated clothing and shoes – we are so grateful for your support, as it is provided many people – many of whom would rarely get the opportunity to get clothes – with items that will last many more seasons.
