Tour  De Kruger Newsletter 3

Dear Cyclists

Well time is  marching on and the cycle tour is now only a few weeks away. We hope  that you are putting in lots of training and time on the bike. This is a  tough ride and in order to fully appreciate the tour you need to be fit  and have spent time in the saddle This  is  third and final newsletter - if for some reason you did not  receive the previous newsletters, please let me know so that I can  forward it onto you. It contains important and pertinent information  regarding the cycle tour, so please ensure that you read  it!

Tour Dates  are 31st July 2007 – 5th August  2007 Sponsorship  We have some  great prizes for the people who raise the most sponsorship over and above  their entry fee.  If you have managed to get sponsorship over  and above the minimum sponsorship donation, please bring your  sponsorship forms to registration. You will then be entered for  some of the great prizes on offer. Every last cent helps these two  charities.      Please advise  me per email if you have raised additional sponsorship and if so  how much,  so that I can do all possible to allocate a room at  Pafuri Camp for you on the final night. These are allocated first to the  people who raise the  most additional sponsorship.

Visas Just a  reminder that if you are not a South African passport holder chances are  you will require a visa for Mozambique. Please make sure that you apply  for your visa in advance or else you will encounter problems at the  border

Medical  Insurance As advised on  our website, a condition of entry for the Tour de Kruger is full medical  insurance cover or a comprehensive travel insurance policy that will cover  Emergency Evacuation. Please ensure that you have this in place and advise  us of the details prior to travel, if you have not already done  so.

Cycling Kit   Good news is  that we have managed to secure sponsorship for two Tour de Kruger  cyclists’ shirts per cyclist. Please take this into consideration when  packing. The cycle shirts will be in your cyclist packs issued at  registration at Mopani Camp

Bike  Spares We will be  taking bike spares on the cycle tour. However each bicycle has a  different size derailleur hanger.  So please ensure that you each  bring your own spare derailleur hanger as if this breaks you will not be  able to continue your ride .
It is  advisable to have tubeless tyres for the ride.  If you do not have  these then please make sure you have tubes that have slime in them and  also that you have tyre liners to minimise the risk of punctures.   This is very important to help make your ride as pleasant as  possible.  There are lots of thorns on this  ride. We highly  recommend that you have your bike serviced prior to the ride to ensure all  is in order as we are riding in very remote areas of the park.

Chain  Lube:  Please  bring your own lube as your will need to lubricate your chain a couple of  times per day due to the dry sandy conditions.

Payment Just a  reminder that the final payment for the minimum sponsorship requirement is  now due. If you have not already done so, please advise us on your payment  details. Our bank account details are below. Please ensure that all  payments are allocated with your cyclist reference number so that we can  allocate your funds correctly. If you have booked the  coach or  transport options and/or single supplement , then please submit these  payments together with your final minimum sponsorship  requirement
